Stanford Torus habitat

Description

A Stanford Torus is a donut-shaped space habitat large enough to sustain a permanent population of 10,000 to 40,000 people. It spins around its axis to produce artificial gravity through centripetal acceleration. Because of its size, a 'natural' environment can be simulated inside. Mine has some minor flaws. Firstly, it lacks the spokes which connect the ring to the central hub. It also lacks the mirror system in the center to reflect sunlight into the interior in such a way as to recreate a day/night system. I left both of these out so you could see the ring's curve and also the small town on the other side. On the inner walls, there are trains to take people from place to place. That's Earth in the background.

Is not the cross-section of a Stanford torus supposed to be circular (to give more structural strength)?
